Photography Courses

Working with today’s digital cameras can be daunting. Just trying to decide which camera, which lenses, and whether to buy new or used can put you off from pursuing photography altogether. Don’t let it!

Investing in photographic equipment and photography skills can benefit you, either privately or professionally, for years to come. And no matter how sophisticated the iPhone camera gets, it doesn’t come close to giving you the depth and richness of a shot taken with a digital camera, nor will you have the extent of printing and reproduction choices.

My photography courses are designed to help anyone from beginner to professional. Whether you want assistance in buying the right equipment or how to use the equipment you have to get the shot you want, I am here to help. I have almost 20 years of experience in the field and would enjoy the opportunity to share it with you.

All of my courses are designed to have the flexibility and customization that you need. Whether in person or virtual, I can accommodate the mode of learning that suits you the best. Take a look at my course offerings below and contact me to discuss putting together the right instructional package for you.

Photography is more than just owning equipment and “taking pictures,” it can be a truly rewarding activity that you enjoy for the rest of your life. This course is specifically geared to the person who believes they want to get into photography, either as a hobby or professionally, but doesn’t know where to start. I will help you with exploring the types of photography that you may want to consider and then work with you to select the kind of equipment that will benefit you the most.

Whether you are just starting out or want to improve your basic knowledge of photography, this course is for you. This course is designed to help you with understanding your camera’s fundamental settings so that you are comfortable in “manual” rather than “auto” mode. I will also give you instruction on basic concepts of photography, such as managing the right lighting, composition, and depth of field. My goal is to have you first understand the basics and then put it into practice right away.

If you have been handling a camera regularly for some time, then you are somewhere along the “spectrum” of camera handling skills and post-processing proficiency. This course is intended to collaborate with you, one-to-one, so that we can put together a set of instructions that will help you achieve your goals. The beauty of photography is that there is always something to learn and there is always the pursuit of that “great shot.”

In my opinion, the best way to learn photography is to take pictures! This course is a private instructional opportunity “in the field.” We will mutually agree your objectives, select a venue, date, and time, and then work together through to post-processing of your images. I will be shooting alongside you so that we can collaborate in real-time.
